My Friends Keep Having All These Kids

I guess I should be getting used to it by now—after all, I am 31 years old. But it still kind of freaks me out when I learn of my friends having kids. I feel like they're not old enough to ... do ... that, yet. Have families, I mean. Not—no, I didn't mean that. Haha. Hi.

What?

That was awkward.

Here are some of my favs from my shoot with Derek and Erica and their two little girls. Yes, I wanted to steal them. But I didn't! It still counts as kidnapping, even if you plan on returning them once they start crying or pooping. So.

I can't believe I just said all of that on this particular post. Derek and Erica are seriously the sweetest people ever (especially Erica; I've known Derek too long to believe that he's 100% sweet).

I'm still talking. I should stop that, and post some photos. Don't you want to steal McKenzie's curls?

And this is Courtney, the newest member of the family. I wanted to chew on her nose. (But I didn't!)

Oklahoma Oklahoma Oklahoma!

Oklahoma has my heart. I was there last week to visit family and friends. I didn't take any photos of them; I forgot because I was having too much fun just being around them.

Words: road trip, early-90s cassette tapes, flamingos, animal game, Subway, GPS fail, coffee, uncle, aunts, apple pie, grandmother, old photos, pets, beer, Cherokee, country drives. Babies, old friends, bagels, flashlights, family, eggs. Muskogee, post office, pine cone, banjo, Natty Light, breakfast, dancing, home. Banjo.

(Deep thoughts inserted here.) (With emotions and stuff.)

But this is a lookin' blog, not a readin' blog. So, you know. Here are some photos.

Oklahoma, I love you. We belong together, like peas and carrots. Peanut butter and jelly. Ketchup and eggs. Hot damn.
