Baby Reed (Colorado Newborn Photography)

World, meet baby Reed James.



I went to visit Liz and Reed in the hospital this morning while new daddy Ted ran home to let the dogs out.





Reed is not even two days old now. He didn't have that whole alien-baby thing going on, like so many newborns do (not that there is anything wrong with looking like an alien).



The doctor and some nurses came in to do regular newborn things, like count his toes and listen to his little lungs.



He even makes hearing tests look good:





First phone call with Dad, who sounded JUST A LITTLE BIT EXCITED OH MY GOSH.



Liz looked so relaxed and happy (this after a drug-free childbirth!) and she's just glowing in mommy blissdom. I'm looking forward to getting to know Reed more and teaching him how to ask for a bunch of horses and a big truck when it comes time (I'm thinking in about 5 years).

Laura + Jason: Married! (Colorado Wedding Photographer)

Ok, let me see if I can get this straight: Laura grew up in Saudi Arabia. She met Jason in Wyoming. They traveled in India for a year, live in Texas, and got married in Colorado. Yeah ... that sounds about right.

Huge thanks to Laura's brother, Josh, for being the wedding coordinator of the year. He booked their venue (the Greenbriar Inn), ordered her flowers, and booked me, all while Laura and Jason were in India. Awesome pic of Josh coming up in a few.

Laura and Jason's family and friends were nothing if not genuinely welcoming and warm to me. The bridal party made me dance at the reception, and guys, I sincerely apologize for your having to witness that. :)
