Ms. Mac

Eleven years ago, I went to high school prom with my good friend Derek. Ten days ago, he and his gorgeous wife had a darling baby girl and today I got to be there to document her first bath. I've known Derek for about 17 years, and even though I hadn't seen him in about 8, it was just like old times. Except, of course, that he has a baby and is married and owns a home. But you know. Other than that. :)

Baby Mac was easy and sweet and just about fit in my pocket when I left after our session.

I was so happy to finally meet Derek's wife, Erica. I didn't have a ton of friends in high school, but Derek was one of the people I truly enjoyed being around and he was probably one of the few people who actually understood my weird sense of humor. I always knew he'd be a fantastic husband and father, and YES I KNOW I SOUND REALLY MUSHY TONIGHT, but it makes me smile to see that he found Erica. I like her. I like him. And I like their baby. Good then.

The Hilarity Was In The Temperature

Somehow I bribed my good friend Amy into letting me try out my new lens on her yesterday. She flew in from California to brave the Colorado weather in short sleeves and really cute ruffly shoes, which I insisted she wear but then didn't shoot even once. :)

In between shots, we hung out upstairs at the West End Tavern on Pearl Street to warm up and chat.

I have got to start picking uglier friends. People were asking what we were shooting for ... when I told them that Amy was famous, people started wanting her autograph.

That's just silly.

Srsly, Amy was such a good sport. It was 19 degrees outside and the wind was blowing.

Things got funnier:

I mean, reallyreally funny:

The end.

These Are Cows

Sometimes missed focus is a good thing. And so is being ok with missed focus. And so is the spongey learning stage I'm in, because I'm being ok with things that I thought were bad. And I like them. Good then.
