Eleven years ago, I went to high school prom with my good friend Derek. Ten days ago, he and his gorgeous wife had a darling baby girl and today I got to be there to document her first bath. I've known Derek for about 17 years, and even though I hadn't seen him in about 8, it was just like old times. Except, of course, that he has a baby and is married and owns a home. But you know. Other than that. :)

Baby Mac was easy and sweet and just about fit in my pocket when I left after our session.

I was so happy to finally meet Derek's wife, Erica. I didn't have a ton of friends in high school, but Derek was one of the people I truly enjoyed being around and he was probably one of the few people who actually understood my weird sense of humor. I always knew he'd be a fantastic husband and father, and YES I KNOW I SOUND REALLY MUSHY TONIGHT, but it makes me smile to see that he found Erica. I like her. I like him. And I like their baby. Good then.

These look great Hay! SO funny how different our pics are. Maybe today I'll get some up...
Neat stuff. Wish you'd been available for the first bathings of your cousins back in 1969. :-)

Haley, what incredible work. The photos of this family feel so intimate- it feels as if as a viewer, I was part of a quiet, beautiful moment. They are lukcy to have such incredible keepsakes. Brava!
