Leah's bedtime is 8... and I promised her and her mom I'd have something up by then! There are more images but since I'm just barely squeaking in, I thought I'd at least get these up tonight!

WIlbur's New Home
Oh hee hee! Not really his new home. Do you think I'd let my baby boy go without a serious fight? HEYull no.
But his likeness shall live (or exist, anyway) in the home of a fellow critter lover in Montucky.
I think she picked some cute images, yesh?
In the meantime, I have nine gazillion photos on my memory card right now. That's a lot. I know I haven't posted a lot of new pictures here lately, but do not be confuzzled. It's not because I'm not taking a lot of pictures. I've been busy with the biznass end of things... researching insurance and licenses and moving from state to state and fun stuff like that.
To that end, yep! - I'm moving! For sure this time. I'll be Colorado-bound at the end of March, so if you're a Washingtonian, be sure to book a photo session before then. I have to admit I'll miss some stuff about the PNW, like the kayaking and the beaches and my dog-walking friend, and the sister-in-law and her devil cat, and the cute gate guard, and the tax-free shopping, and the ferry rides, and the... yep, that's it (did I cover it all?) But there are things in Colorado that I'm excited about, most especially SUNSHINE. And COLORS OTHER THAN GREEN. And also my family. Anyway, that's a post for another day, because I have to go forage through the cabinets in search of dinner now. I know I have some rice... and some mustard... and some salsa....
(You didn't seriously think I sent Wilbur to live in a new home, did you?)

Kitty Silhouette and Christmas Pickles
I've been feeling a little sorry for my dogs lately... too much shutter-clicking and not enough playing and training. Sure, they get lots of attention when I'm behind the camera, and actually our walks are usually a bit longer when I bring my camera. But they've been being so good (minus the "busted" incident from yesterday) and I want to wrestle with them and have Char do funny tricks and play chase with Wilbur, and it's way easier to do that when I don't have my camera (could I say "camera" more in this sentence? Sheesh). So I decided to give the dogs a few days off from modeling.
Which means that Pearl is my newest victim. She spends most of her time on top of the fridge, and the rest of the time she hangs out in this window.
Also, this is my family looking for the Christmas Pickle. I really tried not to post it, and I've been successful for a few weeks now. But I can't resist any longer. It cracks me up every time I see it. Every year, someone hides a pickle in the tree and whoever finds it wins.
That's right. A pickle.

The End of an....
Today my "landscaping partner" (funny story) and I went for a hike along the beach up north on the peninsula. Wilbur likes her better than me because she lets him pee on stuff.
Oh WAIT! I forgot to tell you something! My blog has been neglected this week because I've been a crazy lady. I spent the past few days working on my new website, which has less talky-talk and more pictures and how to have me photograph your dogs and stuff. Ok, let's call a spade a spade: I'm hoping to turn my passion of dogs + photography into a job. Like, one that turns into a career. *collective readership gasp* (I heard that!)
But it makes me nervous to talk about it, so let's talk about the beach instead.
Yesh? Yesh. Oh, but if you want to peek in on the new website/tellallyourfriendsaboutit, the site is: www.haleypoulos.com. I know. I'm original.
Excuse me, but the sun is out. In January. In Northwestern Washington.
*knock knock*
"God? Yesh, hai. It's me, Haley. Didja know that the sun is shining? Oh.... okay. Just checking in to make sure you know that it's winter in the PNW. What's that? Oh, yes, tomorrow IS the inauguration, that's true. Oh!... Oh, well, yes... yes, thank you! Yes I know. Tomorrow IS like a new ray of sunshine in this country, you do have a point. Ok then. Well, I like your metaphors!"
WIlbur isn't sure how he feels about the beach. I left Char at home so I could give Wil more attention. The beach makes him nervous. I don't know about him. When I adopted him almost 2 years ago, he didn't know ANYTHING. He didn't know how to be a dog! He was afraid of everything indoors, and didn't know how to play with toys or sniff stuff on walks. The first thing he learned was how to snuggle (he's good at that now) and today he learned about giant shells.
Then he peed on this:
Then we went home.
ps OMGosh if you like pretty things, you should go look at my friend Em's flowers from Hawaii. Holy Guacamole. Speaking of sunshine, I want to move there! She and I went there together back in 1999 and ate lots of mangos and lived in the ocean and ate shaved ice and kayaked to infinity and her dad and I built giant sand turtles and then we wrecked the rental car (but not too bad). AND her mom swam with eels. It was quite the trip. Anyway, go look at her flowers, because seriously. They are beautiful!

Something Different
I don't know why. Just because I could, I guess!
I kind of like it. It's really different from what I usually do or enjoy, but I'm learning that I don't always have to do things the same way, and no one has to like it. Ooooooh. Yes, that's right. Life Lessons in Art. How 'bout that.

Did You Say "Meow?"
I don't have anything to say today, but I think Pearl does:

Charlotte would like for you to know that she found this post entirely boring and without a point. There was no ball. It made her tired, but she refused to shut her eyes completely... the cat has been known to pull ninja kitty stunts.

A Tired Dog is a Happy Dog
Throw the ball.
Nah, I'm just kiddin'. I won't do that to you again.
Today we met up with Titus and his mom. Wilbur and Titus have so much fun together. Well, I mean- Titus has fun teasing Wil and Wil has fun chasing Titus and tackling him. Both Titus and Wilbur took some good spills today. Wilbur is sacked out on the kitchen floor, and by the looks of it, he won't be conscious again for a few hours. I love it!

While Titus and Wilbur were playing, Charlotte was.....
But I said I wouldn't do that to you again (at least not for a week or so), so I will leave you with Wilbur's new bud.

After their Mad Chase session today, I have a feeling handsome Titus is passed out, too! Hooray for tired dogs!

This Is Serious
Throw the ball.

I love you. Throw the freakin' ball.

OMG FOR THE LOVE OF A MOTHERLESS GOAT. THROW THE G*! D#*! BALL!!
Wilbur doesn't care about the ball. He likes to watch the birdies.

Then he gets flat.
I threw the ball. Charlotte fetched the ball. Check out that tail. (You don't hear that every day!)

My #1 Colorado Fan
I am pretty sure my family was glad to see me when I got to Colorado, but there was no doubt at all that my mom's dog Kaya was happy to see me! As soon as I walked in the door, he was bouncy and snuggly and brought me his fuzzy moose.
The biggest bummer of my trip (besides not having more time to spend with everyone, of course), was not having enough time to shoot the dogs. I was particularly looking forward to taking pictures of Kaya, because he and my mom go walking every day in this gorgeous Open Space behind her house. There, Kaya likes to roll on dead grasshoppers and hunt for invisible mice. And in the Colorado sunshine... well, you can imagine how gorgeous it would have been! However, between all the visiting and the snowy, freezing weather, we just didn't have time. Hopefully next time I'm out there I'll have more time to spend outside with my furry friends. Luckily, Kaya does not have cabin fever nearly as bad as my dogs would if they'd been stuck inside for three days.
Kaya looooooooves my mom. He only has eyes for her (and baby carrots).
Mad Teeth, Jack Russel-Style
I was going through my Colorado pictures last night and found a couple more of Daisy that needed to be shared with the world. She sure packs a lot of personality into a little tiny body!
She's soooo ferocious. Then she sticks her tongue up your nose, and you know she just wants to love you.

What IS That?!
My sister:
Oh, and I missed this one of sweet Mary last night. Her foster brother, Rowdy, got adopted while I was there! I'm super happy for him, but I was secretly harboring dreams of bringing him home with me....
Today the Tuesday Morning group met up at the field, which wasn't a field after all, but an immense windy swampland filled with precipitation that at one point vaguely resembled snow, only it wasn't; it was slush. Our boots soggy within five minutes, we opted for the slightly higher grounds of the trails to the pond. My camera stayed safely confined within my backpack for most of the trek- I only brought it out for a very few shots. My friend Peter makes fun of my over-protective need to guard my camera from the elements. But he's from California and I'm from cold places, so we can't help it.
brrrr
