Slick

Meet Slick:

090523013

This is what Slick looks like when he's listening to the birdies:

This is what Slick's owner looks like after he winds up and kicks her square in the hip:

Slick was pretty proud of himself for that one.

Slick, Slick, Slick.

He's a 2-year-old Paint gelding who is friends with everyone he meets. Slick cannot decide if he's a horse, an alpaca, or a dog. Slick herds ducks. Slick loves his dog. Slick prefers sweet new grass to apples (SLICK. I BOUGHT YOU A HONEY CRISP.) Slick would like his gums massaged.

When I showed up for our session this morning, Jeanette brushed off Slick's sleepy mud coat. Three minutes later, Slick rolled in the soft new dirt.

This is what happens when you give Slick an apple:

Now meet Antonio:

He is, by way of family tree, Slick's little brother.

After he batted those eyelashes at me and gave me a two-toothed grin, I almost handed him the keys to my truck, my 5D, and all of Greg's glass. I would have given him more, but that's all I've got.

I needed to shoot some cows for a project I'm working on, so after our session, Dee, Jeanette,  Antonio and I loaded up on the 4-wheelers and headed down the road to the neighbors' dairy.

This is why I'm a vegetarian (those faces!!!)

I have a ton of processing to do still. These are the tip of the iceberg, though, and I wanted to get something up before I head out again for the evening.  Thank you, Jeanette, Dee, Jimmy, and Antonio for the warm welcome, for showing me around your place, and mostly for the raspberries.

I hope you don't mind a squatter. I'm moving in. : )

I love the pictures! And I grew up with cows and do not understand how anyone could eat one! Those big brown eyes!

Slick, I love you. Seriously, you're amazing! Haley, the shots are fabulous. Slick looks like such an awesome character! And the cows... The cows are so stinkin cute! I love the wide angle that you used. It really makes these pictures stand out. Not that they wouldn't stand out without the wide angle! They're lovely!
