I've been feeling a little sorry for my dogs lately... too much shutter-clicking and not enough playing and training. Sure, they get lots of attention when I'm behind the camera, and actually our walks are usually a bit longer when I bring my camera. But they've been being so good (minus the "busted" incident from yesterday) and I want to wrestle with them and have Char do funny tricks and play chase with Wilbur, and it's way easier to do that when I don't have my camera (could I say "camera" more in this sentence? Sheesh). So I decided to give the dogs a few days off from modeling.
Which means that Pearl is my newest victim. She spends most of her time on top of the fridge, and the rest of the time she hangs out in this window.
Also, this is my family looking for the Christmas Pickle. I really tried not to post it, and I've been successful for a few weeks now. But I can't resist any longer. It cracks me up every time I see it. Every year, someone hides a pickle in the tree and whoever finds it wins.
That's right. A pickle.

LoL, my family does the Christmas pickle too! Our first Christmas together, my husband thought I was nuts! But now each year, he always makes sure I put the pickle on the tree! Cute picture :)
The pickle is an old German custom.
Yes, Auntie Con, I know it's an old German custom. But it's still really, really funny!
Now I want to know who Anonymous is, who has the Christmas pickle too!
I've been doing the Pickle since my daughter was born (She's now 20) and I brought her an old world Christmas ornament for her first tree away from home..guess what it was? Yep, the pickle. I'm half German and it's been a fun tradition in my family since forever. (Hugs)Indigo
Ok, not doing the pickle, the traditon...geez louise that sounded bad *winks* Indy
Indigo- lol! Thank goodness!
According to German tradition, the pickle brings good luck. The first child to find the gherkin was rewarded with an additional small present left by St. Nicholas. The pickle tradition encourages youngsters (and not so youngsters!) to enjoy the many ornaments on the tree before checking to see what St. Nick has brought them.
We have to get a pickle now!
