The End of an....

Today my "landscaping partner" (funny story) and I went for a hike along the beach up north on the peninsula. Wilbur likes her better than me because she lets him pee on stuff.

jan 19-2.5

Oh WAIT! I forgot to tell you something! My blog has been neglected this week because I've been a crazy lady. I spent the past few days working on my new website, which has less talky-talk and more pictures and how to have me photograph your dogs and stuff. Ok, let's call a spade a spade: I'm hoping to turn my passion of dogs + photography into a job. Like, one that turns into a career. *collective readership gasp* (I heard that!)

But it makes me nervous to talk about it, so let's talk about the beach instead.

jan 19-3.5

Yesh? Yesh. Oh, but if you want to peek in on the new website/tellallyourfriendsaboutit, the site is: www.haleypoulos.com. I know. I'm original.

jan 19-9.9

Excuse me, but the sun is out. In January. In Northwestern Washington.

*knock knock*

"God? Yesh, hai. It's me, Haley. Didja know that the sun is shining? Oh.... okay. Just checking in to make sure you know that it's winter in the PNW. What's that? Oh, yes, tomorrow IS the inauguration, that's true. Oh!... Oh, well, yes... yes, thank you! Yes I know. Tomorrow IS like a new ray of sunshine in this country, you do have a point. Ok then. Well, I like your metaphors!"

jan 19-1.5

WIlbur isn't sure how he feels about the beach. I left Char at home so I could give Wil more attention. The beach makes him nervous. I don't know about him. When I adopted him almost 2 years ago, he didn't know ANYTHING. He didn't know how to be a dog! He was afraid of everything indoors, and didn't know how to play with toys or sniff stuff on walks. The first thing he learned was how to snuggle (he's good at that now) and today he learned about giant shells.

jan 19-7.5

Then he peed on this:

jan 19-5.5

Then we went home.

jan 19-4.5

ps OMGosh if you like pretty things, you should go look at my friend Em's flowers from Hawaii. Holy Guacamole. Speaking of sunshine, I want to move there! She and I went there together back in 1999 and ate lots of mangos and lived in the ocean and ate shaved ice and kayaked to infinity and her dad and I built giant sand turtles and then we wrecked the rental car (but not too bad). AND her mom swam with eels. It was quite the trip. Anyway, go look at her flowers, because seriously. They are beautiful!

wow those are amazing shots! How do you catch the sun so it's "ray like"?

You've already had Wil for almost two years? Wow, it seems like not that long ago that you started talking about getting him.

I think me and you are the same person, just living in opposite parts of the country. I gotta houla, you gotta houla. We both love taking pictures. And I am about to adopt a dog that had no idea what being a dog meant, and you have Wil!

Seriously, he's my sister's dog, and before I started caring for him, he slept all day, didn't play with toys, went outside to pee and came right back in. Now he starts playfights with Rocket, retreives balls, and basks in the Florida sun all day everyday.

I have no idea why I felt the need to share, but...yeah. ANYWAY - love the pictures as always. I saw the footprints picture on Flickr and wanted to ask what the glare was. Was it something on the lens?

Wilbur and Pickles have alot in common. She's a great working dog, but at times her shyness stands out. When they first brought her to me they said she loved tennis balls, stuffed squeaky toys. I had a whole basket of toys for her.

The squeaky toys make her jump and nervous. Tennis balls - what's that. She loves playing with rope toys. Old knotted up tube socks (washed before given to her). As well as old washcloths, rags. The wash cloth is her favorite of them all. I'll place it over her head and the game's on.

I don't mind the quietness of her personality at times, she's way to loving not to. (Hugs)Indigo
