Welcome!

Thanks for checking out my blog. I think you'll find that I enjoy photographing all sorts of things, but mostly ranch life and family pets, along with the occasional wedding. Please click here to be linked to my main site with contact info and details on how to schedule a photo session.

For the Love of a....

Did you know that when you delete pictures from your flickr account to make room for new ones they delete them from ANYWHERE YOU'VE EVER POSTED THEM? Why I oughtta....

So now it is Friday night, and my obsession with my photos and my blog is just strong enough that I will indeed stay inside tonight (I say that as if there isn't a skating rink instead of regular streets out there) to fix the issue. So if you were going to email me to tell me that nine gazillion photos are missing from my blog.... yes, well, I know. But do feel free to check in with me anyway, just to keep me company. Bring beer.

Anyway, hopefully the images will be up by tomorrow. IF, that is, I can handle the tedious task of going through my blog's HTML to find out exactly which photos I freakin' erased. Poo.

VERY NICE! What's your URL? I'll add you as a contact! :)

Ooof! I JUST DID! lol! I was sooooo rebelling against doing that- tried to set up a fake yahoo account- but I finally caved about an hour ago! lol! I'm now in the process of re-uploading pics/drinking a beer/being stared at by Charlotte.

Hee hee- our comments are all twisted up because I had to delete one of mine... can't spell when I'm confuzzled by flickr and drinking beer!

I have my flickr account set to private right now. Do you think it's okay to be set to public? I don't really know anything about flickr. Plus, I don't know what my URL is??? Help!

Sure you can make it public! For the most part, the people there are VERY helpful and love browsing different pictures. If you don't want certain pictures public, you can individually select them to be private.

Your URL consists of your username. Mine is flickr.com/photos/catdonmit

You can find that by clicking "Your Photostream" from your Flickr homepage. That will give you the main page your photos are on.

Okay... I think it is http://flickr.com/photos/haleypoulos

Let me know if that works?!?!

Yep! It worked, I just added you as a contact. But your photos are still private, I think. It says you don't have anything to show.

Hmmm. Okay. I tried to make it so you could see my photostream now. Why is this too hard for me?!? When I originally opened my account I set everything to "Chastity Belt" (my own words) so that no one at all could see my pics. Don't know why... suppose it's the Montanan in me- privacy, and all that. lol! Anyway, I've added you as a friend and I'm trying to figure it all out!
Thanks for your help!

Chastity belt, nice. hehe
I still can't see anything, but I'll let you mess around with it some more. It's addicting, I just gotta get out and take more pictures! :) Can't wait to see more of yours!

Catherine, I'm only seeing that I can make NEW uploads public. Is that right? Do you know of a way to make old uploads visible?

Catherine said...

Yeah, click "Organize" up at the top of your page. All of your photos will show up in a row at the bottom and you can select them all, move them to the top "workspace", and then click "Permissions", then "Who can see, comment, tag, etc?"

Then you can click everyone, and voila! All of your pictures are public!

Wow, thanks Catherine! I think I did it! I can't believe what a computer nerd I'm turning into because of all this photo stuff! Thank you for helping me, and now I'm excited to go look at all your pics!

One word and it doesn't cost anything...Photobucket. It's what I've always used. I don't use as many photos as you do, but I've got thousands up in that account. Not to mention it automatically gives you the html code as well. The idea is to make sub folders within the folders to give yourself more space. It probably wouldn't hurt to have a back up one, though. I just noticed you went ahead and brought an unlimited service. (Hugs)Indigo
