Oh! So, I learned a lesson tonight. You can't stay up for hours trying to fix a photo that sucked to begin with. Like this one:

I mean, okay, sure he's cute and anydog sticking his tongue out has definite story-telling appeal, but seriously. All that worry and fuss over exposures that just weren't meant to be... it was a bad day for shooting, and I will have faith that tomorrow will be better. If you are tuning in for the first time tonight (I say that as if anyone but my mother checks my blog more than once a day!), you missed some really fugly pictures of purple-hued dogs and non-sensor-friendly exposures. You are lucky. They hurt my eyes to look at. I guess that's part of learning.
I know I have a long long way to go before I can be a great photographer, but in the meantime, I can be proud of my progress, I guess, even if I disappoint myself once in a while. Moments like these are growing experiences and now I know not to vex my sensor like that again.

I really like the first one! I love tongue shots! All the technical stuff may have been off, and it may have been a bad day for shooting, but it is an appealing picture, if you ask me. :)
Thanks, Emilee. That's my boy Wilbur. You should have seen it right out of the camera. Eeek! Purple fur! Post-edit, his eyes are too yellow, but- meh. He is cute no matter what! You always seem to get your dog's black just right... I'm jealous!
Thanks for stopping by my blog, by the way!
I think that's a perfect shot of Wilbur. He kind of looks like his cheeks are all puffed up like he's trying to blow a bubble. Or as if he's saying "plbbbbt" to Char.
SALIMANDER!!! Can you tell I love 'em? I wish I could gets shots like this. First of all it would require skills, which I lack. Secondly, it would require a working knowledge of my camera, which I also lack. I use the little auto settings... I'm pathetic. That photo you talk about having worked too long to edit? I love that shot actually! The background is very cool!
