Well, it's not exactly nice out, but it could be much worse for the first day of November. I spent oh... I'd say about half of the week taking employment tests and the other half taking pictures, because you never know when Mother Nature is going to let loose and sunshine will just be a distant memory.
Days like today are perfect for going down to the ponds- no one is down there but me and the dogs, and if we're lucky, maybe a blue heron or an otter. I feel like a lot of these look kinda senior-portrait-y, but I do like the late-fall colors.
Charlotte really does not subscribe to the belief that some weather is just not meant for swimming.
But Wilbur knows that it's always good weather for digging and rooting around with your snoot.
Char reallyreallyreally hates for me to take pictures of her shaking off water. She always comes out of the water, looks to see where I am, and goes the opposite direction so I always just get her tail. Today I tried hiding behind a bush to spy on her, but she caught me right in time. She started the shake, saw me, then turned around and shook the other way. I guess most people would be happy to have a dog who refuses to shake water on them!
This end of Wilbur is much more attractive than the flea-bitten end. Poor dude.

Oooh, that last picture of Wil is just fabulous. Colyn agrees with Char regarding swimming weather. There is no such thing as non-swimming weather.
Also, I noticed that you put your email address on your blog. I heard from a couple of web-savvy friends that there are "bots" that troll the web picking up email addresses and then spamming them. You can avoid this by using (at) and (dot) instead of the actual @ or . symbols. I figure if my friends are wrong, no big deal, if they're right then I avoided all that spam.
Love, love the drool/water droplet...!! I always look for that and never capture it!
i love your photography! your photos are awesome. i'm a dog person (cattle dogs) so i also vote to keep up the dog pictures. mj
