Fortune-Cookie Ear

My nasal passages have been taken over by enormous amounts of ickiness, and I didn't really feel like getting out with the dogs today. But after an hour of feeling Charlotte's eyes bore holes in the back of my head, I figured a little sunshine and fresh air might be what the doctor ordered, after all. See what I mean? They're like little laser beams smoldering their way into my psyche.

Doesn't look like warm water, does it? That's okay. That's what fur is for, after all. Plus, as long as there is a ball, or something else fetchable, in my hands, Char wouldn't care if the sky was falling- she'd fetch all day long if I'd let her.

Wilbur is suspicious of dogs who swim in cold water. As long as the Wildthing is on dry land, that is where Wilbur prefers to be, too.

And he likes to be far, far away from this:

Speaking of far, far away, there's Roper! Diane and I were wondering whether the dogs always just think it's a crazy coincidence when we see each other in new places?- or if her dogs think that my dogs live at the pond, or if they really don't think about it at all, as long as someone is throwing the ball.

It's Fling-a-Ling! I don't know that Fling spends a lot of time wondering about things like that. But she sure is fast!

In our neighborhood, the landscaper people are busy corralling all the leaves for future pick-up. Char thinks that's pretty funny. She likes things to be corralled.

This kind of turned into a mini fall photo shoot. It's always a nice little surprise to come upon a pile of something so colorful that contrasts with my dogs' pitch-black fur.

Char's ear got all fortune-cookie on her, here. I do not know how it turns itself inside-out like that.

On our way home from our walk, we checked the mail and there was a package from my cousin for my birthday. I can't wait to read the book she sent me, and the dogs couldn't wait to eat the Howl-o-ween cookies she sent! We sat outside in the fall sunshine while the dogs crunched on their cookies.

Hey, that looks like Pearl! Can I chase this one?

Sorry, kitty! *yum*

I wish I'd gotten "before" pictures of the cat cookies, but I was not quick enough.  They were really cute before they were beheaded and slobbered on.  I managed to get the jack-o-lantern, though.

Your pictures are so beautiful. No wonder you love Fall so much... The pics of Wil and Char in the leaves are gorgeous. I wish I were there with you, chilling on the porch, listening to the dogs eat cookies. :)
